2014: Best of Film Photography

2014 was the year I added film photography to my playbook. Thanks to a lot of people no longer caring about the old format, I’ve just been given a lot of different cameras and films to play with. I’m still learning the best combinations of films and cameras, but I’ve gotten some photos I’m very happy with. The quality is not very good as they are quickly scanned but my 2015 plans includes learning to develop and getting a scanner. So here’s a quick top 10:

10. Palace explorer

This is Emma just wondering off on her own through one of the palaces of Hyderabad, India. Shot on Kodak 400, on my EOS3000, probably with the 40mm f2.8 pancake lens.

9. Windy Ellie

This is Ellie. We like going to the beach, even on really windy days. Shot on Ilford XP2 400, EOS3000, 40mm f2.8 pancake lens.

8. Yasiin Bay aka Mos Def

Mos Def at Soulfest. Shot on Ilford XP2 400, EOS 3000, I’m thinking the lens was the 85mm f1.8

7. Wedding day kiss

Two of my oldest friends give each other a kiss on Joe’s wedding day. Kodak BW400CN, EOS3000, 40mm f2.8

6. Christmas Oscar

Oscar waiting for cheeky leftovers under the Christmas lunch table. Ilford XP2 400, EOS3000, 20mm f2.8

5. The Grand Canyon (of Yellowstone)

I can’t remember the name of this waterfall, but it flows into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Kodak 400, EOS3000, 40mm f2.8 pancake

4. Liam “Fucking” Eddie

Taken on his roof during a photoshoot for Release the Hounds promotional stuff. Ilford 400 XP2, EOS3000, 70-200mm f2.8 ISII

3. Alex Goes to  Hollywood

I managed to con Alex into hiking with me behind the Hollywood sign. It was hot. Kodak BW400CN, EOS3000, 20mm f2.8

2. Nick “Clive Owens” Carter in India

This beggar harassed Nick through the streets of Hyderabad for a very long time. Ilford XP2 400, EOS3000, 40mm f2.8 pancake

1. Nabil awaits his bride

We were a little bit early for Nabil’s wedding ceremony, so he had to wait on his podium. Ilford XP2 400, EOS3000, 40mm f2.8 pancake
